SONG OF THE DAY: Rivaz – “#1 (Colors)”?

When you get a track as epic and beautiful as Rivaz “Colors,” you just know there will be a vocal version coming.?? The track has been buzzing since Winter Music Conference, and when we first heard the uplifting and euphoric track, we had flashbacks to the first time we heard “Children” or “Sunchyme.”? A major record at Ibiza this summer, vocalist Corrine does the topline duty, singing about her personal empowerment being a desirable woman standing out from the crowd of women out there.? Yeah, that’s kind of elevating the lyrical theme, but let’s just go with that.? Corrine sounds like a cross between Rihanna and the singer from Karmin- with a touch of Bebe Rexha.? For a tougher tribal take with a bit more of a big room electro vibe, check out Robbie Rivera’s remix. While on the Rivaz tip, be sure to check out two other tracks he did this summer, “Tell Me Twice” with Benny Benassi and Heather Bright, as well as his remix of “Boom Boom” by Ray Foxx and Rachel K Collier.

INTERVIEW: Bimbo Jones (2013)

Bimbo Jones, the team of Lee Dagger and Marc JB, are probably best known for their consistent output of top flight vocal remixes for artists like Lady Gaga, Pink, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, and Kylie Minogue.? What you might not know is that the two started as songwriters and producers signed to 19 Management. ? In addition to their remixes, they are launching three record labels with a new artist album set for release.? I caught up with them during Amsterdam Dance Event to catch up with them about all they have going on.

RS: Congratulations on the Kristine W record, how did that come about?
Lee Dagger: It came about last year when we finally got to meet Kristine in Miami. Marc and I had wanted to meet her for years. We have always been a big fan of ?Feel What You Want? from back in the day, which is an amazing house record. When we met her, she invited us to go stay at her ranch any time. ?I was shocked and when we took a trip to the states, we went and stayed on the ranch. Marc and I took one of our tracks that we were really passionate about that had a real strong backing track and sat down and wrote it with her. It was an amazing experience and we gelled really well together. She is a great girl.
Marc JB: She is very talented; she is not just the dance artist that you see in all the PR. She is an accomplished jazz vocalist and saxophonist, a very technical, clever and creative girl.
Lee Dagger: Yeah, she is great on the sax.

INTERVIEW: Hardwell (2013)

The big Dutch EDM producers pretty much fall into two categories ? trance or dirty.? Hardwell stands out as one who blurs the lines, combining the aggressive electro of the Dirty Dutch with the pretty, melodic feel of the trancers.??We spoke during Amsterdam Dance Event on the day of his massive Revealed label party – which ended up being one of the highlights on the entire week.

RS: Are you excited about your big event tonight?
Hardwell: I am really excited, it is the biggest Revealed night that we have had so far. 1,600 tickets sold out in 1 week, the hype has been buzzing on Twitter and Facebook for a month now. I expect a really good party tonight.
