INTERVIEW: CLMD (2013)

Norwegian duo Carl Louis and Marin Danielle, better known as CLMD, has been rising in popularity.? Their original tracks (“Falling Like Angels,” “Black Eyes and Blue”), remixes (Norman Doray, Gus Gus, Max Vangeli), and white labels (“Turn the Music Up”) have been getting love and support from DJs around the world.? A distribution deal for their Up North imprint through Sony gives them the freedom to release music when they want all over the world.? Their recent release, the gorgeous and progressive “The Stockholm Syndrome,” is just a sign of what’s to come from the talented duo.

INTERVIEW: Kerli (2013)

Kerli isn’t an artist, she is a force of nature.? The Estonian pop princess recently released her Utopia EP where she leaves behind the darkness and enters the light with a set of uplifting dancefloor gems.? Her songs “Zero Gravity” and “The Lucky Ones” received massive club play for good reason – engaging lyrics sung with emotion over energetic beats.? With her moon children following her, she brings love and energy wherever she goes.

DJ Ron Slomowicz: Congratulations on being #1 with ?The Lucky Ones.? This is your second time, how does it feel to be so embraced by the club community?
Kerli: Thank you. It feels good but it is not about the charts, it’s about the music and the people.

INTERVIEW: The M Machine (2013)

San Francisco-based EDM group The M Machine gained major attention when Skrillex released their debut EP “Promise Me a Rose Garden”/”Glow” on his OWSLA label.? The trio of Andy Coenen, Eric Luttrell, and Ben Swardlick were inspired by the classic movie Metropolis for their follow up EPs and their name.? Their remixes of Arty, Passion Pit, and Madeon gained a lot of attention as well.? The artistic trio are really involved with the full aesthetic experience of their music – focusing on creating a live audio and visual show as they tour.? We caught up with them in Nashville when they were touring with Markus Schulz on the Scream Bus Tour.

DJ Ron Slomowicz: How is the bus tour going?
Ben: We are in a new city every day, it?s great and we are very happy. Markus is awesome and his crowds are really intense which is great for us. Andy just programmed a big video show and we get to use his giant LED screen, so the timing is perfect.
