INTERVIEW: Tenishia (2013)

Maltese DJ/production duo Joven Grech and Cyprian Cassar, better known as Tenishia, have done a lot to put the island nation on the international scene.? Their debut artist album ‘Memories of a Dream’ continues to spawn singles as the duo tour the world.? Moving up to the Top 50 on the DJ Mag list is just one of the many signs that Tenishia are ones to watch.

RS: So you guys are from Malta, what is the scene like there?
Joven: Great, it was really good in the ’90s and it went down a little, but it is coming back up. We have a big fan base there and when we do a Tenishia concert, we have 1% of the population there.

RS: You guys produce all of your own events, didn?t you?
Joven: Yes of course, besides doing Tenishia in concert we do Tenishia events four times a year. We are currently working with some other promoters in the trance family on trance events in Malta.

INTERVIEW: Hardwell (2013)

The big Dutch EDM producers pretty much fall into two categories ? trance or dirty.? Hardwell stands out as one who blurs the lines, combining the aggressive electro of the Dirty Dutch with the pretty, melodic feel of the trancers.??We spoke during Amsterdam Dance Event on the day of his massive Revealed label party – which ended up being one of the highlights on the entire week.

RS: Are you excited about your big event tonight?
Hardwell: I am really excited, it is the biggest Revealed night that we have had so far. 1,600 tickets sold out in 1 week, the hype has been buzzing on Twitter and Facebook for a month now. I expect a really good party tonight.

INTERVIEW: The Flexican (2013)

Occasionally in the stream of new music coming out, a track catches your attention and becomes what I affectionately call a WTF track.? Something so creative and out of the ordinary that it just shakes things up.?? If you haven’t heard of The Flexican yet – you soon will.? Coming from a hip-hop background, his mash of styles- electro, house, moombahton, and tech come together for a truly unique take.? DJ Ron Slomowicz:? Great job on the Stevie Wonder “Superstition” mix, have you thought about getting it revocalled for an official release?
The Flexican: Yes, when I heard the beat I thought it was too good to release as it was and I figured that if I added the vocals it would match and give a different vibe to the song. People know the song and can sing a lot to it.
