SONG OF THE DAY: The Banger Bros feat MelAkai – “Beep Beep Boom”

It’s a family affair. Stepbrothers Scott Skinner and Naite Longfellow have invaded the US from the UK and unleashed several strong tracks including a sick mix of “Supermassive” (from the Twilight Soundtrack), “Rock That Style” and “Shake Shake.” Up next is “beep Beep Boom,” a Don Diablo-styled grimey electro track with a dubstep vocal breakdown. The original mix is a floor filler and remixes by Spekrfreqs, Jean Claude Ades, Chrizz Luvly, and Andy Caldwell will no doubt translate it for DJs of every genre. Watch for this to be one of the first big club anthems of 2011.

SONG OF THE DAY: Bimbo Jones – “Questions”

Bimbo Jones are sort of a remix factory, churning out successful mix after successful mix. It is sometimes easy to forget they do their own productions as well. With “Questions”, the duo pop out something I was not expecting from them: an engaging and distinctive instrumental track. They sort of hop on a Wolfgang Gartner vibe and funk it up with some of their signature synths. “Questions” is the type of track that will either take off in it’s original form and possibly get vocals recorded for it, or (and this is far more likely in my opinion) someone will take this amazing track and mash it up with some stellar vocals already in existence. Something this fun won’t stay un-adulterated for long! Until then, get prepared to have this track rock you on the floor!
