Trance, like all of the popular and overpopulated genres of the world, is a fickle lover. As a singer at the height of your career, your voice caresses the minds of millions of listeners through collaborations with producers on countless tracks. At the lowest point, you are forgotten, another echoed voice over a trance beat. But Aussie Emma Hewitt is far from the lowest point in her career, and rather than aiming for the heights, she is aiming to be the best possible artist she can be, trance singer or other. And if her debut single as a solo artist is any indication, Emma Hewitt’s presence will be a given.

Australian born DJ/Producer Ken Loi has been rising in notoriety with solid remixes (Ting TIngs “Hands,” Martin Solveig “Hello”), big name support (Tiesto dubbed him Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2011) and his special “bootups” which are DJ friendly mashups.? “All It Takes,” his first single on Tiesto’s label Musical Freedom, starts of subtle and gradually increases in intensity.? The? electro/progressive house track then drops down to the heart-felt vocals of Miami-based vocalist Zashanell (last heard on the GTA track “U & I”) and crescendoes to a massive hands-in-the-air big room monster. The strong hooks, dynamic mood changes, and vocal chants makes “All It Takes” a summer club track with the potential to become a club favorite.? With a great track like this, maybe its time for Ken to quite his day job as an EMT and resuscitate dance floors around the world instead.
