SONG OF THE DAY: Little Boots – “Headphones”

Between this and “Every Night I Say A Prayer”, Little Boots forthcoming 2012 album is looking to be quite a departure from the electronic stomping ground that was her first album. ?”Headphones” is Blondie by way of Lady Gaga on a disco trip, pure infectious pop in the best possible way. ?Is that a bit of Dope Smugglaz/Malcolm McLaren “Double Double Dutch” bassline we hear in there? No saccharine sweetness here, only a driving beat and an infectious chorus (in case you’re tired of “Call Me Maybe”). ?And the peep show video is just adorable, isn’t it? It’s like a modern up with people take on Madonna’s “Open Your Heart.” ?If you’ve been waiting for the next Little Boots track to love, here it is.
