SONG OF THE DAY: Florence + The Machine – “Spectrum” (Calvin Harris Remix)

There’s just something incredibly luscious about Florence Welch’s voice, something irrefutably entrancing about it, that makes her music a force of nature. Such is definitely the case with the powerful track, “Spectrum”. And taking that power to the dance floor is the current producer to work with, Calvin Harris. The remix isn’t overly complex, rather standard mix of beats and synths, but there’s something about Harris’ dance prowess combined with the inherent strength in Florence’s voice that just begs them to collaborate more often. Obviously the final result of “Spectrum” is beyond stunning, but I can’t help wonder what some of our other big name producers might come up with…

SONG OF THE DAY: Noisettes – “Winner”

The title of this track sums itself up rather nicely. ?The Noisettes’ new single is a pure “Winner”! ?Infusing rock and electronic beats into a bouncy rhythm with depth and melody, The Noisettes deliver a powerful track that suits in almost any arena, whether it’s a house party, in the car, or on the dance floor! ?And like Connie Mitchell from Sneaky Sound System, The Noisettes’ singer Shingai Shoniwa is a vocal presence that has to be heard to be appreciated. ?No doubt that “Winner” will find life in the clubs much as “Don’t Upset the Rhythm” did back in 2009.
