SONG OF THE DAY (SUNDAY FUNDAY): Ciara – “Got Me Good”

While “Got Me Good” is not the most cutting edge progressive record of all time, it is a fun booty record with a sing along chorus and a built in dance routine in the lyrics. Similar to her much loved UK single “Work” which became a regional club hit thanks to the mashup with Wolfgang Gartner’s “Fifth Symphony,” the second an acapella drops there will be mashups all over net. What makes this track perfect for Sunday Funday is the video with the obvious drinking game. If you take a shot every time the video references a Janet Jackson video, you will definitely be unsafe for driving. Dance moves from “So Lonely,” backdrop from “Someone to Call My Lover,” group choreography from “Together Again,” wardrobe from “What Have You Done For Me Lately,” hair styling from “Everytime,” military timing from “Rhythm Nation,” are just a few obvious ones off the top of my heads (and I am not even a Janet completist). Do a double shot if you find the homage to the infamous hand bikini cover picture from Rolling Stone magazine. Not that we condone or endorse alcohol consumption, but the video is so much fun that you could play with fruit juice and it would be just as entertaining.
