SONG OF THE DAY: Norman Doray and NERVO ft Cookie – “Something to Believe In”

If there’s something missing from big rooms right now, it’s definitely big voices.  So when a track like “Something to Believe In” comes along with a powerful vocalist like Cookie (aka Cynthia Abrams, who sang the deep house classic “Best Part of Me”) singing gospel over retro-styled house keyboard, it’s definitely a good thing.  French producer/DJ Norman Doray and Aussie twin producer/DJs Nervo constructed this primetime, big room track as almost window dressing for the dramatic and anthemic vocal chorus.  How amazing would it be if this track were fleshed out as a full song with a verse – chorus – verse structure?  Yeah, I know I’m dreaming – but either way, “Something to Believe In” is a welcome hands-in-the-air sing-along addition to any club set.
