SONG OF THE DAY: Audrey Napoleon – Poison
Following up the mostly instrumental track “Bitchy Queen,” Audrey adds a trancy pop vocal (by Betty Trouble) to her electro production. Much like the recent Zedd ft Matthew Koma track “Spectrum,” Audrey blends together many current styles: big room progressive, electro, and dubstep to create a cohesive song that works well in clubs and possibly even on the radio. The stuttered vocal effect, though we’ve heard it so often lately, is still fresh and builds the energy quite well. The video is quite over the top, a literal interpretation of “Poison” as a Dangerous Liaisons period take of Snow White with the evil queen controlling her subjects.
